Flooded in yarn

I hear all knitters will sooner or later develop a hoarding tendency. Apparently some have whole bags and baskets of yarn that they store for those elusive future projects. Well, I better start clearing some room in my linen closet, because Spotlight just had a 40% off all yarns sale...

Beanie time - Lotus Hat

After knitting beanies upon beanies for my friends, I finally decided it was time to knit something for myself. Needless to say, it had to be epic. I wouldn't settle for anything less. And thus it took me nearly six months of mastering the art of knitting, before I deemed myself qualified enough to attempt my beanie.

Knitting basics and baby boots - Slanting decreases, seams and baby joys

When I found out that friends of ours are expecting their first baby soon, I went into baby knitting overdrive. Of course, the first thing a baby needs, are fashionable baby boots! And in order to make baby boots, you'll need to learn the wonderful art of left and right slanting decreases...

Knitting basics and beanie time - K2tog, YO and the Slouched Tuva Hat

Once word got around that I had become somewhat of a knitting wizz, everyone wanted one of my famous beanies. But I'm picky with who I spent my precious time on, so the next recipient of my knitting skills wasn't to be just any odd person. And the next beanie wasn't to be just any odd beanie. Knitting basics - How to make a slip knot

Every great journey has to start somewhere. It's the same with knitting projects. Once you cast on that first stitch, there's no turning back until you have finished your latest master piece. Or, of course, until you end up unravelling it all and starting over. In any case, it's the slip knot you'll need.

Beanie time - Hurricane Hat

After the success of my first beanie, I was on a mission. I set out to make beanies for my closest friends. And the best thing about it: They would have to love them, and wear them, and keep them forever, because they were my friends. Muhahahaha! It's a fool proof plan for world domination.

Beanie time - Terzetto pattern beanie

Alongside the arm warmers I had already made for my sister, I had also promised my husband that he, too, would get something awesome from me.

My first adventure - Epic Arm Warmers

When I first learned to knit, I scoffed at the idea of making a scarf. 'No' I thought. 'I shall be making something much for useful than a mere scarf. I shall be making some mittens.'
